The proposed company would separate FIFA’s commercial and event operations while FIFA retained majority control; FIFA says it could generate more than $10 billion for development.
UEFA has called an emergency meeting of its 55 associations, while Asian and North American confederations have also raised concerns.
FIFA’s 211 member associations must decide by September 19 whether to support the proposal, which also requires FIFA Council approval.
Approval may require a simple majority or, if statutes must change, support from 75% of represented associations; no formal vote date has been announced.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said Iranian negotiators are experienced in formal and informal talks, responding to Donald Trump’s comparison of the conflict to chess.
Baghaei said Tehran and Washington are exchanging messages through intermediaries rather than holding direct negotiations; he said talks could resume if the United States stops violating the agreement.
Baghaei said safe international navigation cannot be guaranteed while the situation continues, adding that maritime services require something in return.
